A computerised telecoms terminal used in the invention includes a system control unit 1, a reader 3, a recorder 4, an operator interface unit 5 and a communication control unit 2. The system control unit includes a line memory 11 and a buffer memory 13 which is connected to a traffic flow rate buffer 15 placed in the communication control unit, and which is connected to a transmission line 8. With this structure, the data are transmitted to the transmission line in accordance with a page format, and the condition of transmission of the page is varied by detecting the speed of production of the data and, or, the state of unoccupancy of the transmission line as a function of the quantity of data to be transmitted which has accumulated in the traffic flow rate buffer.
