PURPOSE:To improve the operability and the positional precision when setting an original and to prevent paper feed defects, the skew, paper creases, etc., and detect the size of the original to move automatically a lens by adopting a reference of one side of the original and that of the center of a transfer material. CONSTITUTION:When an original 2 is placed on an original platen 1 with its one end brought into contact with an original contacting plate 50 and an original press-fitting plate is closed, this state is detected by a microswitch 100, and an original size l0 is inputted to a CPU 101 through original size detecting sensors 79-82. The CPU 101 operates an extent X of movement of a lens 10 on a basis of the original size l0 and sends a signal to a driver 102 on a basis of the operation result to drive a DC motor 60, and the lens 10 is moved toward the original contacting member 50 from an optical center position C by a length X in the direction parallel with the original but the focal length is not changed. When a copy button is depressed thereafter, the picture of the original 2 is copied on a transfer paper 17 with unmagnification through the image forming process. |
