PURPOSE:To decrease the number of current sources and also to reduce the power consumption of a magnetic recording device, by using a writing/ degaussing current source which is used in common to both writing and actions. CONSTITUTION:The input signal supplied from a writing signal input terminal 7 is supplied to a writing current drive circuit 4 to switch the constant writing current supplied from a writing/degaussing current source 8 and then supplies a current to a right or left coil of a reading/writing head 1 to write signals to a magnetic memory medium. In this case, the center tap voltage of the head 1 is applied from a center tape voltage source 3 via a degaussing head 2. Then the constant current of the source 8 is flowed to the head 2 via a writing current drive circuit 4 and the head 1 in order to prevent the interference between tracks of a magnetic recording medium. Thus a degaussing action is carried out. |
