A bracket (1) for erecting a free standing support for a horizontal plank or platform for use as a saw horse, scaffolding, table or bench, using standard sizes of lumber has a leg clamp member which allows either of two standard lumber thicknesses to be used as legs. The bracket also can utilize a standard piece of lumber to act as a cross-member, thereby allowing the support to hold planks of any width and allows any amount of separation between the legs. Prior brackets were limited in the width of the supported plank and separation of the legs by the maximum width of the bracket, and could only safely use a single thickness of lumber as a leg. |
