<p>The present invention relates to a mechanical pump for the direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, of the reflux with interrupted delivery type, wherein the plunger (14) delivers the fuel from a delivery chamber (16) into the combustion chamber up to a position in its stroke, at which the fuel reflows towards its tank through ducts (22,23,24,25) provided in the plunger (14); such ducts comprise at least two helical grooves (22) provided along the outer wall of the plunger (14), communicating with the delivery chamber (16) through outer longitudinal grooves (23) and through at least a longitudinal duct (24) provided inside the plunger, so as to accomplish a pump with large fuel reflux section area.</p> |
