Toothed power-transmission V-belt comprising a body formed from a matrix made from an elastomer in which a layer of metal cables or cabled filaments made from textile, natural or synthetic materials is embedded, serving as traction support, with, on the external face of the said belt, at least one rubberised fabric layer and, within the teeth, reinforcing members directed substantially transversely with respect to the belt. The said reinforcing members 26 have, in cross-section an <<open>> shape somewhat like a gutter having rolled free edges, partially folded over, or not rolled, and which is deformable in the longitudinal direction of the belt. Application: mechanical variable-speed drives and/or gearboxes for the motor-vehicle industry. <IMAGE>
