PURPOSE:To maintain machining precision, by a method wherein a table is divided into parts depending upon the number of shafts, a displacement generating device is mounted between main shaft stands, thermal displacement between the central lines of the main shafts is followed by a distance between tables. CONSTITUTION:A displacement generating device 50 is mounted, spanned between main shaft stands 41 and 41'. The device 50 is at its interior with a heating and a cooling device and a temperature measuring element 54. A position detecting rod 56 is extended from the device 50 and is coupled to a position detector 57 at the main shaft stand 41. When displacement of a shaft X extending between main shafts occurs, the device 50 is actuated to displace the rod 56. Displacement amount of the shaft X is always followed by tables 6 and 6', and a distance between the tables is displaced, and this provides a work 7 having a uniform size and high precision. |
