<p>A layer of expanded organic material is applied to a thin metal sheet without any bonding layer other than a metal primer. The coated sheets are decorative and sound insulating and may be used e.g. for motor car bodies. The sheets can be treated in flat form and afterwards bent to shape. The sheets are pref. of thin steel or Al and are usefully coated with a primer. The expanded material may be of polyurethane, an elastomer or pref. PVC, and my be made from a plastisol by incorporating a chemical expanding agent.</p> |
