Process for the disposal of painting residues

The invention relates to a process for the disposal, by thermal treatment, of painting residues, in particular paint sludges and paint waste in the form of bulk material which has been landfilled or treated. The invention provides that thermoplastics are melted by kneading under pressure, painting residues, in particular paint sludge or treated paint waste is then added, and the resultant mixture is likewise kneaded and mixed under pressure, and that the plastic composition then present is fed to a mould and cooled. The essential advantage is that paint sludges are not landfilled directly or after (expensive) thermal treatment, but instead are fed directly to re-use. This applies both to fresh paint sludge/water mixtures coming from painting units and to dry paint waste (bulk material) which has been landfilled or treated.
