METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRELIMINARY TREATMENT FOR TAPPING FROM MOLTEN IRON TRANSPORT VESSEL

PURPOSE:To prevent an accident of contingent tapping or tapping failure in the stage of inclined tapping by inserting an oscillating hole breaking bar into a molten iron transport vessel and oscillating and breaking the solidified surface slag prior to the inclined tapping of a molten iron. CONSTITUTION:The position of the molten iron transport vessel 1 stopped in a home position is confirmed. A lifting device 3 is operated to insert the hole breaking bar 4 into a self-standing guide 19 and is further hung down to be inserted into an aperture 17 until the top end of the bar 4 arrives at the surface of the surface slag 11. The bar 4 is then gradually lowered while an oscillator 5 is kept operated. After the completion of the hole breaking is confirmed by the position of a heatproof plate 15 or the oscillation sound, the oscillator 5 is stopped and the bar 4 is hoisted. A slag stopper is attached to the aperture 17 after the hole breaking and the inclined tapping is executed, then the suspended lumped slag is accumulated in the vessel 1 without affecting the tapping so that only the slag can be discharged after the tapping.
