PURPOSE:To attain excellent recording/reproduction by allowing an information recording field formed on a base to occupy a half length or above of the base with respect to one direction and dividing one sense in one direction into two so as to apply reciprocating movement. CONSTITUTION:A card base 2 is a rectangle where X and Y directions are used respectively as two sides, and a recording area 4 is provided on most fields on the surface of the base 2, but a non-recording area 5 prolonged in the direction Y is provided nearly at the middle with respect to the direction X. Thus, the area 4 is divided by the area 5 into two areas 4a, 4b. However, a region 7 connecting the areas 4a, 4b is formed in the vicinity of the left ridge. Further, an information track 6 is prolonged in the direction Y in the area 5. In the optical card formed as above, in reciprocating the card at the recording/reproduction of the information, the card is made free of deformation or damages in the recording areas and the information is recorded/reproduced in an excellent way. |
