PURPOSE:To obtain the titled polyamide, by reacting a wholly arom. polyamide with an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal compd. in a polar org. solvent to convent amide linkages on the surface thereof into N-metal salt and then reacting it with water, a protonic compd. etc. CONSTITUTION:A wholly arom. polyamide contg. repeating units of formulas I and/or II (wherein Ar1, Ar2, Ar3 are each a bivalent arom. ring group) is dissolved in an org. solvent having polarity equal to or higher than that of dimethylformamide (e.g., methanol). An org. alkali metal or alkaline earth metal compd. (e.g., sodium ethoxide) or an inorg. alkali metal or alkaline earth metal compd. (e.g., calcium hydroxide) is added thereto to effect a reaction, whereby amide linkages on the surface of the polyamide are converted into N-metal salt. The resulting product is reacted with water, a protonic compd., a halogen compd., a heterocyclic compd. an ester compd. or an alkene compd. to obtain the titled polyamide. |
