PURPOSE:To copy originals efficiently by arranging sensors, which detect the leading side of a sheet material, in a prescribed intermediate position of a fixed platen and in the front end part of the fixed platen and placing two sheet materials in parallel on the fixed platen. CONSTITUTION:A controller 23 starts copying sequence by depression of a copy button 25, and the set position of an intermediate sensor S2 out of sensors S1-S3 can be switched or changed in accordance with the detected size of a half-size sheet original. An original setter part 19 and an original ejecting part 22 can be raised from an original platen 3 as one body with the depth in the figure as a fulcrum, and a thick original like a book is set on the original platen 3 with the original setter part 19, etc. raised, and the original setter part 19, etc. are brought down and are used as an original retaining plate to copy the original. Thus, the processing speed of half-size sheet materials is raised twice to perform the copying work or the like efficiently. |
