The invention relates to an apparatus making it possible, by a single operation, to remove selectively the partitions which close off the grooves of a plastic strip, the grooves then serving as slideways for the boards of components. The apparatus includes a carriage 10 which supports the strip 13 provided with the partitions 15 to be removed selectively by the cutters 23. The selection is performed by means of screws 30, 31 which each act on a cutter 23 by moving it further away from the pin 26. The carriage 10 can move according to the arrows 11 and 12 so that the cutters 23 resting on the pin 26 are located in the grooves of the strip 13 during the movement of the carriage 10 in the direction 11, their ends tearing off the partitions 15 on passing, during the return of the carriage 10 in the direction 12. The invention finds one application in the field of equipment using electronic-component boards. <IMAGE>
