This clasp is of the type formed from two elements 1, 2 sliding with respect to one another; one 1 of these elements has the form of a sheath and is provided at one end with a fastening tab 4 split 4a into the form of an upturned U for the insertion of a first terminal ring 11 of the item of jewellery 12, and the other element 2 slides inside the element 1 in the form of a sheath and is equipped with a slot 7a for receiving the same terminal ring 11. According to the invention, the element 1 of the clasp has, at its end opposite this fastening slot 4a, a closed fastening tab 5, 8 fitted with a hole 5a, 8a capable of retaining the other terminal ring 10 of the item of jewellery; the hole 5a of the fastening tab 5 of the element 1 in the form of a sheath is an oblong hole so as to permit the movement of the sliding element 2 relative to the element 1 in the form of a sheath. <IMAGE>
