PURPOSE:To prevent the crack of a sleeve assembly type rolling roll during rolling by shrinkage-fitting double sleeves around an arbor, providing an arc- shaped projection to the surface of the intermediate sleeve and mounting the outer sleeve thereto. CONSTITUTION:The roll for rolling a mild steel is constituted by shrinkage- fitting the intermediate sleeve 10 and the outer sleeve 12 onto the arbot 4. The intermediate sleeve 10 is strongly shrinkage-fitted to the arbor 4 and the outer sleeve 12 is lightly shrinkage fitted to the intermediate sleeve 10. A key way 6 is formed on the surface of the intermediate sleeve 10 shrinkage-fitted to the arbor 4 at a large shrinkage fitting rate and a key 18 having the arc- shaped projection 16 is mounted therein. A groove corresponding to the key 18 is not provided to the inside surface of the outer sleeve 12. The surface of the key is rounded to 0.2-0.5mm height (h) to avoid the formation of a sharp recess at the point where the sleeve 12 contacts. The shrinkage-fitting stress of the intermediate sleeve 10 and the outer sleeve 12 is decreased and the generation of the roll crack on the outer sleeve 12 during rolling is prevented. |
