PURPOSE:To produce the titled compound, by reacting 6,7-disubstituted-2- hydroxy-3-methylenebicyclo-[3.3.0]octan-es with an organolithium, then with cuprous iodide and further with an organolithium compound in the presence of a specific reactant. CONSTITUTION:6,7-Disubstituted-2-hydroxy-3-methylenebicyclo-[3.3.0] octanes expressed by formula I (R<21> and R<31> represent trihydrocarbylsilyl, etc.; R<4> represents H, methyl, etc.; R<5> represents alkyl, etc.; n is 0 or 1) (containing its enanthiomer or mixture thereof) are reacted with an organolithium in an organic solvent, and then with cuprous iodide. Then the resultant is reacted with an organolithium compound expressed by formula II (R<11> represents H, hydrocarbon, etc.; m is 0-6) in the presence of N,N-methyl phenylaminotributylphosphonium iodide, and if necessary subjected to deprotection, hydrolysis and/or salt formation reaction to obtain a compound expressed by formula III (R<1> represents H, hydrocarbon, etc.; R<2> and R<3> repre sent H, trihydrocarbonsilyl, etc.).
