PURPOSE:To provide a laser recording medium having high sensitivity, high density and reversibility through enhancing the yield of a built-up film, by constituting a recording layer of a built-up film comprising a specified organic coloring matter and a film-forming substance. CONSTITUTION:A laser recording medium comprises a base, a reflective layer and a recording layer. The recording layer is constituted of a built-up film of J-associates, which is formed by the Langmuir-Blodgett method using an organic coloring matter having an absorption band in the oscillation wavelength region of a laser and a cationic film-forming substance. The organic coloring matter is a cyanine coloring matter of formula (I), and the film-forming substance is stearylamine and methyl stearate. The base, the reflective layer and the recording layer are preferably laminated in the order of base-reflective layer-recording layer or in the order of base-recording layer-reflective layer. |
