PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material having an excellent sharpness by incorporating a coupler capable of forming a compd. contg. a coloring matter having a specific property, and a plane silver halide emulsion having a specific aspect ratio to the photographic sensitive material. CONSTITUTION:The titled material comprises the coupler capable of forming the compd. which contains the coloring matter part shifted a max. absorping wave length to a short wave length side due to a bonding capable of cleaving directly or through a timing group by a coupling reaction of the oxidant of an aromatic primary amine developing agent and forms, as the result of said reaction, the coloring matter part having the same max. absorption wave length to that prior to shifting it, and the plane silver halide emulsion in which at least 50% the total projecting area of the silver halide emulsion particles contains the plane silver halide emulsion having a mean aspect ratio of (5:1). The MTF of the titled material is improved by combinating the plane emulsion and the coupler capable of releasing the 2nd. coloring matter simultaneously forming the 1st. coloring matter as the coupling reaction product, by the coupling reaction of the oxidant of the developing agent. |
