PURPOSE:To eliminate a difference in level to inhibit a trace from being produced at one end of a wood material, by enabling a front roll and a depressing pad device to be movably and elevatably controlled so that both are displaced upon replacement of unwoven fabric belts by an amount corresponding to a difference in thickness between the fabric belts so that the end to be ground of the wood material is returned to its reference position. CONSTITUTION:A front roll 9 and a depressing pad device 12 are movably and elevatable controlled. Further, a thin belt (x) made of paper, nylon or the like is replaced with an woven fabric belt (y). If an end O to be polished of a wood material is lowered due to the presence of a difference in thickness between the belts (x, y), the depressing pad device 12 is elevated to return the end O to be polished to an appropriate position ($1). Further, the front roller 9 is also elevated corresponding to the displacement of the device 12, and therefore, the positions (a, b) of the end to be polished on the belts (x, y) become equal to each other. At this time no disadvantage occurs since a rear roll 10 is supported and secured and a higher level. Accordingly, there is no difference in height between the front roll 9 and a pad surface 13 so that it is possible to inhibit a trace from being produced at the end of the wood material. Further, it is possible to use a thin belt (x) and an unwoven belt (y) in only one sanding machine without the necessity of adjustment and replacement of various component parts. |
