PURPOSE:To enhance the fastness of the developed color part of a recording material, by using a condensation product obtained from a specific fluorane derivative and an aldehyde compound as a color forming component. CONSTITUTION:2-4mol of a fluorane derivative represented by formula I [wherein R1 and R2 may be same or different and are 1-9C alkyl, 3-6C cycloalkyl or 1-4C alkyl substituted 3-6C cycloalkyl or R1 and R2 may form 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring (which may be substituted with 1-4C alkyl) along with nitrogen atoms bonded thereto] is reacted with 1mol of an aldehyde or dialdehyde compound represented by formula II or III (wherein R3 is 1-9C alkyl, phenyl or 1-4C alkyl substituted phenyl and R4 is a direct bond, 1-4C alkylene or phenylene) to obtain a condensation product which is, in turn, used as a thermal color forming component and a recording material is prepared by a known method. |
