The tunnelling machine comprises a head (1) with a body (2) and a nose (3) on the latter, there being one or more supporting surfaces (7) on the nose which can be inclined to the body axis. A spray nozzle (8) on the nose is aimed away from the body, and is supplied by pipe with a medium under pressure. - The nose is movable in relation to the body so as to adjust the direction of the supporting surface in relation to it, while the head contains a remote-controlled mechanism to effect this movement.
