The method is intended for the production of dental prostheses or dental prosthesis parts made of a polymerisable plastic. It entails the plastic being introduced into a cavity corresponding to the shape of the dental prosthesis, delimited on one side by the gypsum model and on the other side by a mould upper part retaining the arrangement of the teeth and surrounding the vacant surfaces of the gypsum model as the whole, and created by removing the dental prosthesis model. The introduced plastic is polymerised under pressure in a polymerisation vessel in a cell containing the gypsum model and the mould upper part. In order to ensure, on the one hand, high fitting accuracy of the dental prosthesis to be produced on its bearing surface in the jaw and to avoid, on the other hand, any negative effects as regards the position of the teeth, especially in unfavourable jaw conditions, the pourable plastic is poured, according to the invention, into a central cavity in the dental prosthesis model and from there with uniform distribution from bottom to top into the model cavity which is held vertically, and the central cavity is also filled at least up to the level of the model cavity which is kept under pressure during the polymerisation.
