With an apparatus for the continuous application of bitumen sheeting on large surfaces such as bridge structures, hydraulic structures, large-surface-area roofs or the like, a solution is to be provided by which application of sheeting of this type can be automated, simplified and, in particular, rendered less expensive. This is achieved in that, on a running gear (2), there are provided a stand (8) for a bitumen-sheeting drum (9), a pressing roller following the running gear (2), and a plurality of burners which heat up the underside of the bitumen covering sheeting (11) and/or the surface (13) of the area to be covered. <IMAGE>
