PURPOSE:To switch and display two kinds of pieces of information at one place by forming common electrodes and segment electrodes on the opposite surfaces of a couple of glass substrates, and displaying said information with the common electrodes and the segment electrodes on the other substrate. CONSTITUTION:The common electrodes and segment electrodes C1 and S1, and C2 and S2 are stacked on the opposite surfaces of the glass substrates G1 and G2 which face each other across liquid crystal so that insulating films A1 and A2 are interposed. Then, the common electrode of one substrate and the segment electrode of the other substrate, i.e. C1 and S2 or C2 and S1 are switched by a switch S and used to alternate and display two kinds of information at one position, thereby making a large, easy-to-see liquid crystal display in a limited space. |
