A pulverized coal feeder for use with a furnace such as a reducing furnace is disclosed, which pulverized coal feeder comprises receiving tanks connected to a pulverized coal tank and adapted to constantly receive supply of pulverized coal, impellers adapted to be rotated by variable-speed motors and disposed horizontally in supply sections formed in the bottom of each of the receiving tanks, and ejectors joined to the supply sections and connected to cylindrical sections having the impellers rotatably mounted partially therein. Pulverized coal is supplied to the burners via pipes connected to the ejectors.
