PURPOSE:To facilitate the opening and closing of a door and reduce the installation cost thereof, by providing such an arrangement that the release and lock operations of cleats may be made simultaneously with the opening and closing operations of the door. CONSTITUTION:In the case of opening a door 3 which has been closed as indicated by the solid line, when a hydraulic cylinder 5 is actuated, the door 3 is moved obliquely downward toward inclined surfaces 81, 91 of cleats 8, 9 which are, therefore, released from their engagement conditions. When the cylinder 5 is further actuated, the door 3 is turned until it takes a horizontal posture by means of a hinge member. The vertical descent and horizontal turn of the door 3 may be realized due to the provision of a guide pin 16 secured to the vertical side wall 31 of the door 3, a linear inclined section 151 and arcuated section 152 of a guide plate 15 attached to a hull, a circular inclined aperture 12 formed in a hinge eye plate of the hinge member on the hull side, and a hinge pin 13 secured to a hinge eye plate 11 attached to the door 3. |
