The invention relates to a push button switch, especially of flush-mounted design for domestic installations, having at least one push button and one switch cap, guide attachments being constructed on the push button and guide surfaces, which make it possible for the push button to be guided in a sliding manner, being opposite one another on the push button and in the switch cap. It is intended to improve the parallel guidance properties of the push button. In this case, the means for parallel guidance are intended to be stabilised with respect to rotation and tilting forces, to be made insensitive to the influence of dust, and their production cost is intended to be reduced. For this purpose, it is firstly provided that at least one guide attachment, which is profiled in an L-shape or T-shape, consists of two first and second guide strips (3, 4) which are arranged at right angles to one another, that, secondly, guide rails (8, 9) are integrally formed on the mutually opposite guide walls, which guide rails slide on one another, are preferably of semicircular cross-section, and whose sliding surfaces are located parallel to the guidance direction, and that, thirdly, the guide walls located between the guide rails (8, 9) taper towards their free ends. <IMAGE>
