ERASABLE OPTICAL RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To manage safely data sections with high reliability by providing a nonerasure field on an erasable disc so as to record flag information displaying kinds of data sections such as erasure/recording enable/disable and defective sectors onto the field. CONSTITUTION:One sector has an ID section where ID information representing a sector track number and a sector number or the like is recorded in a form of ruggedness. A recording reproduction light spot S1 and an erasure light spot S2 have a light spot interval g1-2 as shown in figure and a disc track (a) is arranged so that an erasure light spot S2 is scanned precedingly toward the direction A. Then the succeeding light sport S1 scans the disc track (a) to control irradiation/nonirradiation of the light spot S2 by the detection of the ID section at the head of a sector, then the field succeeding to the ID section corresponding to the light spot interval g1-2 between the light spots S1 and S2 is used as the non-erasure field.
