发明名称 AMORPHOUS ALLOY FOR FUEL CELL ELECTRODE
摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a fuel cell electrode material of low cost, high stability and good anodic oxidation characteristic, by making the material of a group IVB element as the main constituent and a group IB element as the rest, and activating the surface of the material. CONSTITUTION:An amorphous alloy for the electrode of a fuel cell contains 50-80atom% of one or more group IVB elements (Ti, Zr and Hf). The activity of the amorphous alloy is high and the secular change thereof is slight, especially in an alikaline solution, when the alloy is used as the electrode material of the fuel cell for which formaldehyde, carboxylic formic acid or the like is used as fuel. The cost of the alloy is low. If the total amount of the group IVB elements in the alloy were less than 50atom%, it would be difficult to stably obtain the alloy and the anodic oxidation characteristic of the alloy would not be sufficient. If the total amount were more than 80atom%, the quantity of a group IB element which is the other constituent of the amorphous alloy would decrease to made the anodic oxidation characteristic thereof insufficient, especially in the alkaline solution.
