Biological purification of effluent waters - with high salt content using plants

Excessive deposition of salt crystals which might damage purifying plants (pref. soft rush) is prevented by alternatingly passing through the plant root zone (pref. a silica bed) impure and pure water, whereby salt cyrstals are periodically dissolved so that the decomposition of toxic contamination by the plants is not affected.
