Tree-securing means

Young trees, which are planted in garden installations on flat roofs, underground garages or other areas on which only a relatively thin topsoil layer is present on a hard underlying surface, have to be secured in a specific manner. A retaining device which is particularly effective, can be fitted inconspicuously with low outlay and takes up only a small amount of space is composed of a rigid plate (3), the diameter of which is greater than the root ball (2) of the tree (1) and which can be laid on the hard underlying surface before planting the tree and before providing the topsoil, and of a retaining device which connects the trunk of the tree fixedly to the plate. As retaining device there may be provided, on the upper side of the plate, rings or hooks which are connected, via cables (4) or rods, to a point of the trunk located at a distance above the ball of the tree.
