PURPOSE:To correctly separate the domain of an object from other domains, by preparing the density histogram of the picture of a general purpose TV camera, finding a threshold by analysing the histogram, and obtaining a binary coded signal output by comparing the threshold with the linear combined output of the picture. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal obtained with a color TV camera is A/D converted and written in a picture memory as data of R (red), G (green), and B (blue). The coupling coefficient of the U-axis is set in a color arithmetic circuit 1 by means of a processor 6 and data are written in a domain conversion table 3 by using TW signals so that the output always becomes the same. The content of the picture memory is successively read out to the color arithmetic circuit 1 every picture element and the value of the linear combination of the R, G, and B is found. An addressable counter 5 is successively counted up by using the arithmetic result as an address and a color arithmetic histogram is formed at an address corresponding to Type No.0. A threshold suitable for separating the background is found from the histogram and sent to the color arithmetic circuit 1. Then a bit pattern output which becomes a binary coded signal when compared with the threshold is sent out. |
