PURPOSE:The titled fibers, consisting of a fiber-forming component of a copolymer of a carboxyl group-containing modified polyolefin with a polyamide, etc., and a specific bondable component, e.g. specific modified polymer, having low heat shrinkability, and improved recovery, drapeability, etc., and useful for nonwoven fabrics, etc. CONSTITUTION:Conjugate fibers obtained by melt spinning (A) a fiber-forming component consisting of 0.5-30wt% copolymer of a modified polyolefin containing 0.5-60wt% carboxyl groups with a polyamide and 70-99.5wt% polyester as a core component and (B) a bondable component consisting of a carboxyl group-containing modified polyolefin, unmodified polyolefin or a mixture of both as a sheath component through a sheath-core type conjugate spinneret and drawing the resultant fibers. The resultant fibers are then converted into staple fibers and passed through a carding machine, etc., to form a web, which is then heat-treated to afford the aimed nonwoven fabric. |
