PURPOSE:To realize an analyzing instrument with which a metaphase image suitable for unclear type analysis is easily and quickly obtd. even by an unskilled person by taking the metaphase image into a CPU in accordance with the output signal from a line sensor which scans the enlarged image of a specimen. CONSTITUTION:A stage 15 on which the specimen S is imposed is vertically and horizontally moved by a moving mechanism controlled by a control device. The line sensor 37 for scanning the enlarged image of the specimen S is provided to a microscope part 1 for obtaining the enlarged image of the specimen S and the metaphase image is taken into the CPU via the control device in accordance with the output signal from the line sensor 37. An image pickup device 12 which picks up the enlarged image of the specimen S is provided to the microscope part 1. The CPU discriminates the metaphase image in accordance with the image signal from the device 12 and records the enlarged image of the specimen S onto a film 33 of a photographing device 10 in accordance with the result of the discrimination.
