PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform inputting with a light pen and the like and to make the contrast in display clear, by providing a unitary body consisting of a solid state writing device using an optical locus method and a solid state display device. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor device comprises the following parts: a first electrode 7, which comprises a lead in the direction of Y and a metal conductor 7 as an electrode, on a glass substrate; an NIN junction type composite diode 2 comprising semiconductor laminated body of N31, I32 and N33; an ohmic contact alloy layer 34; a metal electrode 5, which also serves the role of light shielding; and one electrode (third electrode) 10 of a liquid crystal. One cell has an area of 10mum<2>. This active element is formed in a matrix structure. The laminated body of the semiconductor linear elements having one NIN junction is used as the semiconductor for controlling one solid state display element and as the other photosensor semiconductor. |
