A device (1) for the quantity of solar radiation (amount of sun tanning) which is accumulated over time has a display device (8) or display apparatus (10) as well as a control device (2, 3, 34-42) for determining the dose of radiation. This control device (2, 3, 34-42) has at least one photoelectric transducer (3). A processor stage (28) for an acceptable residual dose is combined with the said control device (2, 3, 34-42), the said residual dose having preferably connected to it a visual display (liquid crystal display 14) showing the acceptable residual dose but also an information input device in the form of keys (S, D, E, R). Preferably, a filter (2) for the UV-B range is connected upstream of the photoelectric transducer (3). <IMAGE>
