<p>In a process for enriching the atmosphere in furnaces for the thermochemical treatment of metal components, the atmosphere contains essentially CO, H2, CO2 and CH4. A large part of the atmosphere gas is continuously extracted from the furnace and collected by means of an outlet header. The extracted atmosphere gas is cooled and compressed by means of a compressor. A part of the compressed atmosphere gas is then recycled into the furnace for adjusting the carbon level, the recycled gas fraction being used for spraying an alcohol mixture.</p> |
