DEVICE FOR ADDING COMPONENT TO MOLTEN METAL

PURPOSE:To simultaneously add plural kinds of alloys to a molten steel with a simple device by placing plural kinds of granular alloys on a steel tape while conveying the tape, forming the steel tape to a pipe shape by a pipe forming device and adding the same into the molten steel in the stage of adding plural kinds of the alloys, etc. into the molten steel. CONSTITUTION:The thin steel sheet tape 11 wound on a rotary drum 12 is continuously let off in a horizontal direction by a guide roll 13. Respectively different granular alloy iron and other additives 15 are supplied from plural hoppers 14 juxtaposed in the progressing direction of the tape 11 onto the tape 11. Such tape is formed to the wire shape 17 contg. the additives 15 by the pipe forming device 16 and the pipe is fed by pinch rolls 19 of a feeder 18 into a guide pipe 20. The pipe is continuously added into the molten steel 22 in a ladle 21 through the guide pipe 20. The plural additives are added by as much as the required amt. into the molten steel with the simple device without the need for forming pipe-shaped wires contg. plural kinds of additives such as alloys by each kind.
