In hydraulic straightening presses, a straightening position is to be approached in high-speed operation, from which the adjustable and repeatable straightening stroke is to begin in each case. In known controls, the approach of this straightening position was extremely difficult and time-consuming. In order to avoid these difficult and time-consuming manipulations, it is proposed according to the invention for the straightening position to be fixed by a stop connected to the ram being reached, said stop then acting on a control piston whose control housing can be fixed via a valve lever which can be mounted in an ergonomically favourable position in the press foundation. <IMAGE>
