<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compsn. providing on a galvanized sheet iron a coating having high resistance to scratch and corrosion and high adhesion, by blending a specific urethanated epoxy ester resin, a rust-preventive chromate pigment and a polyethylene wax in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The titled compsn. comprises 25-75wt% (based on the non- volatile of the coating, the same applies hereinbelow) urethanated epoxy resin having a prim. hydroxyl group (number-average MW, 6,000-12,000), 25-50wt% rust-preventive chromate pigment, and 1-10wt% polyethylene wax (density of above 0.94; MW of 1,000-10,000; acid value <=15KOHmg/g), with the total pigment being 25-45vol% of the solids in the coating. The epoxy resin may partially be replaced by up to 40wt% resol type phenol resin, pref. of the formula (wherein n is 0-4; w is -CH2-, etc.; R is CH3, H, etc.)</p> |
