PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and program in which when the use of functions by an external device on a local area network is restricted, the risk of leakage of authentication information for releasing the restriction is reduced.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, the use of functions by an external device on a local area network is restricted by first restriction means according to restriction information which is received from a first server on the Internet. When the use of functions is restricted by the first restriction means, only in the case where a protocol of communication performed between a device and external device is a secure protocol using cryptography, first authentication information for releasing the restrictions based on the restriction information received from the first server is received from the external device on the local area network. Thus the risk of leakage of the first restriction information can be reduced. |
