<p>PURPOSE:Monoclonal antibody recognizing the fragment of tetanus toxin. CONSTITUTION:Human B-cell sensitized with tetanus toxin is transformed by a lymphotropic virus to obtain a monoclonal antibody reacting specifically to the fragment of tetanus toxin. The tetanus antibody used for the preparation of the B-cell is a protein toxin or exotoxin produced by Clostridium tetani and having a molecular weight of 150,000 and an isoelectric point of 5.1 and is produced by culturing commercially available detoxicated toxoid or Clostridium tetani and purifying the culture liquid. EFFECT:The obtained monoclonal antibody is IgGlambda capable of specifically recognizing the alpha-chain of the B fragment of tetanus toxin. It is also an IgMlambda specifically recognizing the beta-chain participating in the linkage to ganglioside. It is expected to improve the remedying effect of monoclonal antibody by the use of the above plural kinds of antibodies.</p> |
