PURPOSE:To contrive to miniaturize a mold opening and closing cylinder by a structure wherein a sleeve, which is detachable by frictional force, is provided onto a tie rod and, in addition, the piston of a mold clamping cylinder is made to be of a double acting type. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, when a movable mold 16 is brought into contact with a stationary mold 14 by lowering a movable platen 12, oil pressure is applied to an oil chamber 44 for locking so as to bring a sleeve 42 into a state fixed to a tie rod 20 by pushing the sleeve 42 against the outer periphery of the tie rod 20. Secondly, when oil pressure is supplied to an oil chamber 30 for mold clamping, a mold clamping cylinder 24 is pushed downward so as to transmit the downward force to the mold 16, bacause a hollow double acting piston 26 is fixed to the tie rod 20. Under the state as just mentioned above, resin is injected in between the stationary mold 14 and the movable mold 16 so as to be molded and cooled. After the completion of the cooling of the resin, the oil pressure in the oil chamber 30 is exhausted and at the same time oil pressure is fed to an oil chamber 32 so as to apply the upward force to the mold clamping cylinder 24 and a movable platen 12. Consequently, the molds 14 and 16 are separated from each other and, after that, the fixed state of the sleeve 42 to the tie rod 20 is released by discharging the oil pressure in the oil chamber 44. |
