Lance for treating pig iron or steel

A lance for treating pig iron or steel, especially for the desulphurising of pig iron. It comprises a lance pipe which is surrounded by a refractory inner lining and a refractory jacket mounted on the lining. On its outer periphery the lance pipe is uniformly fitted with bolts which hold the refractory inner lining. The anchors (stays) which lock the refractory jacket are connected to the bolts. A foil-like spacer layer is provided between the inner lining and the jacket.
