The tray-shaped support (1) for a plant (9) pot (5) with bottom (6) opening (7) comprises a ribbed (4) support surface (2) and upwardly extending perimeter rim (3). The surface (2) is provided with an upwardly extending, pref. upwardly tapering pin (10). This is capable of entering the opening of the pot placed on it and may have a longitudinal, possibly capillary, groove. The pin may be integral with the support tray or releasably securable to it.
