MACHINE FOR NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING OF WELDS

The X-ray equipment for non-destructive testing and particle for mechanised testing of the integrity of welds along the length of the welds, includes a movable pipe carrier for mechanically traversing an X-ray source along one side of the weld and a grainless fluorescent screen (15) along the other sides. The screen is coupled to an image-isocon video camera through a light intensifier. The equipment includes a picture tube for display of the X-ray shadow picture from the video camera (18) and data generators (28) for super-imposing identifying indicia. A photographic camera records the composite of the indicia and the picture.
