A holder for adhesive tape or the like (5), intended to be applied to a substrate (9) by one hand only. The holder comprises a casing (1) having a portion (3) accommodating a supply roll (4), a tape outfeed opening (6), a knife means (7) fixedly arranged within the casing at said outfeed opening, and an assembly (8) movably mounted at the outfeed opening for guiding and smoothing the tapeon the substrate. What characterises the invention is that the guiding assembly (8) comprises a pivot means (10) displaceably arranged in the casing (1) and supporting a first (11) and a second (13) member which engage the tape (5) and/or the substrate (9). The pivot means (10) is connected to a clamping member (17) engaging the tape and adapted to clamp the tape in the casing upon displacement of the pivot means by turning of the holder relative to the substrate (9). |
