Grate for a boiler using solid fuel such as coal, lignite, peat, wood, bark, sawdust, straw, giant reed, maize cobs or other agricultural by-products and household waste. This grate is characterised in that it essentially consists of two perforated metal sheets which are superposed such that the axes of their perforations coincide, the perforations of the two metal sheets being joined together, one to one, by welded pipes defining between the two metal sheets a water-circulation space bounded by the solid part of the metal sheets and the outside of the pipes, the inside of the pipes serving for the passage of primary air intended for the combustion of the solid fuel on the grate. <IMAGE>
