The method for cleaning the blades of a gas turbine during operation makes it possible to intermittently remove the incombustible fuel particles deposited on the turbine blades at any load point of the turbine. A cleaning agent is blown directly into the gas turbine blading by means of compressed air. The cleaning agent comprises grains, sands and powders of different hardness and grain size. Natural organic or synthetic substances and inorganic substances are used. The incombustible particles deposited on the turbine blades are abraded by the flow of cleaning agent without erosion damage occurring on the blades. The associated device essentially comprises an air cooler (12), a booster compressor (13), an air tank (14), a cleaning agent tank (16) and a metering device (17). By using the method according to the invention the economic efficiency of a gas turbine plant is improved. Use of the method according to the device is justified, in particular, in plants fired by heavy or crude oil with a high turnover of additives. <IMAGE>
